This sweet boy has mastered the art of the leisurely life, enjoying short walks throughout the day followed by well-deserved naps. He's the perfect companion for someone looking for a low-key, gentle presence in their home.

Max is an independent soul who likes to be nearby rather than on top of you. While he won't cuddle up on the couch, he appreciates attention and enjoys being in the same room with his people. He's exceptionally quiet and has a calm, relaxed demeanor that makes him an absolute treat to have around.

Despite being hearing and vision impaired, Max navigates his world with confidence. One of his most endearing qualities is how he'll wander through the house searching for his person when he can't hear where they are – it's heartwarming to watch his determination to find you!

Max would thrive in a home that appreciates a senior dog's slower pace. He's great with other dogs, cats, and older children (due to his enthusiastic treat-taking, a home without small children is recommended). He's wonderful with new people and has no fears or anxieties.

His perfect day includes a few short walks – and fair warning, Max decides when it's time to head home, possibly motivated by the treat that awaits him! He needs moderate exercise to stay agile and maintain a healthy weight, as he's currently on a successful weight loss journey.

House-trained: Yes, with breaks every 2-3 hours when home, but can hold it for 8 hours if needed

Crate: Not used – Max is trusted to free roam

Leash manners: Excellent, non-reactive

Medical needs: Grade 3 heart murmur (managed), moderate tartar (dental needed within the year), hearing and vision impaired

Guarding/Separation anxiety: None
