Marty

Marty / M / 3.5 months / Lab Shepherd mix / 30lbs / Fostered in Port Elgin

Marty is a smart, playful puppy with a heart full of love and a zest for life! This happy-go-lucky boy has quickly learned to trust again after a rough start, and watching his confidence grow has been nothing short of amazing. He's a kind soul who's ready to find his forever family.

Marty is an energetic, playful pup with a wonderful demeanor. He's intelligent, eager to learn, and has that classic puppy enthusiasm for everything life has to offer. Whether he's playing with toys, chasing after socks and boots (much to the amusement of everyone around!), or romping with other dogs, Marty brings joy and laughter wherever he goes.

Marty is doing wonderfully with crate, potty, and leash training. He's very receptive to learning and his crate has become his safe haven—especially when his people are nearby. He needs frequent potty breaks throughout the day, though he can hold it for a few hours and doesn't mark indoors. After plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, he settles nicely in his crate, particularly if you stay close for the first few minutes and reassure him from another room.

This high-energy boy needs an active lifestyle! Marty thrives with a few hours of outdoor walks and running time each day. He loves to play and needs both physical exercise and mental challenges to help him grow into the best version of himself.

Marty is great with kids and has a lovely, playful nature around them. As a big, enthusiastic puppy, he's still learning his manners about nipping and jumping, which can be a bit much for very small children, but his intentions are pure fun. He can be a bit nervous meeting new people and riding in cars (likely puppy car sickness), but he's willing to say hello and is showing improvement every day. He does have a vocal side and can have some separation anxiety with a big bark to match, but with patience and consistency, he'll continue to grow more confident.

Marty would thrive in an active household with people who understand strong, energetic breeds and are committed to helping him build his confidence. He needs a family who can provide structure, training, patience, and plenty of love. If you're ready for puppy adventures and have the time and energy to invest in this special boy, Marty will reward you with unwavering devotion and joy! We believe he is a lab Shepherd mix but there could also be some other breeds in there. He will be a big boy once full grown!

Marty's adoption will include a $200 deposit, which will be refunded at time of neuter. Prior to going home with his new family, his neuter appointment must be scheduled at one of our partner vet clinics in Owen Sound, Mississauga or Angus. His neuter will be covered by the rescue.
