Leo
Leo / M / 7Y / Cockapoo / 30lbs / Fostered in Oakville
Leo has a move he likes to pull — he'll walk right up to you, turn around, and fall backwards into your lap waiting for belly rubs. It's the cutest thing, and it tells you everything you need to know about him. This guy just wants to be close to his people.
He is full of love and full of energy (in the best way). Leo has bursts of play — fetch, tug, chewing on bones, zooming around the backyard — followed by some seriously impressive napping. His kisses are generous and his tongue is LONG . When he meets new people, his tail wags so hard his whole back end wiggles with it, and he'll bark his hello until he gets every last pet he's looking for.
On the practical side, Leo is crate and potty trained with zero accidents in his foster home. He started out in his crate when left alone and has since earned full free roam of the house. He still chooses to sleep in his crate overnight all on his own. He's pretty good on leash too, though his nose tends to lead the way and he's always on the hunt for a snack on the sidewalk . He's also great in the car!
A couple of honest things to know: Leo guards his toys and anything he picks up that he shouldn't (paper towels are his nemesis ). Toys can usually be swapped out for some kibble. For this reason, you would be best in a home with kids 13+. On the flip side, he has zero food guarding — you can move his bowl mid-meal without a second glance from him.
He's working on his volume — he alert barks and he is LOUD — but he's making progress.
Leo would thrive with someone ready to receive every ounce of love he has to give. He's good with other dogs, and did fine with the cat he met at the vet clinic. If you think Leo could be your guy, please complete an adoption application on our website.
