Joey
Joey / M / 7Y / 30lbs / Cockapoo / Fostered in Toronto
This sweet boy is looking for his forever home, and once you meet him, you'll understand why he's so easy to fall for. Joey is playful, calm, cuddly, and loyal all rolled into one goofy package. He's got a real personality — he gets the zoomies, he barks at dogs on TV, and after a recent bath he decided the best toy in the house was the towel he dragged out of the laundry bin. He loves toys of all kinds, especially a good game of fetch or ripping apart a squeaky toy, and he's always up for a walk.
He's a social butterfly who loves people and other dogs (though he can get a little too excited and rush up to say hi, and he's still working on not jumping on people when he greets them — but he's making progress!). His leash manners are decent, and he's good in the car too.
At home, Joey is a moderate-energy guy (about a 6/10) who does well with multiple walks and playtime — roughly 1.5-2 hours of activity a day, whether that's a walk around the block or zoomies around the condo. He gets 4-5 potty breaks a day and can hold it up to 6 hours if needed. He's crate trained and settles in well when left alone, though he does get a little clingy and may cry when someone leaves — something that could grow stronger as his bond deepens, so his next family should be ready to help him build confidence with alone time.
He's shown no resource guarding, loves being petted (he'll actually paw at you if you stop!), and is generally friendly and excited to meet new people. He hasn't yet been tested with cats or kids, but he's shown he's great with other dogs.
Joey would do best with a couple or small family who loves the outdoors, has a bit of patience for his enthusiasm, and most importantly — has lots of love and cuddles to give. If that sounds like you, Joey is ready to be your new best friend!
