Ellie
Ellie / F / 1Y / Collie mix / 45lbs / Fostered in Owen Sound
Ellie is an absolute sweetheart who doesn't have a mean bone in her body! This cuddly, outgoing girl is the perfect mix of energetic playfulness and calm independence. Whether she's bugging her dog foster sister in the most adorable way, contentedly chewing on a chew bone, or snuggling up beside you, Ellie's loving personality shines through in everything she does. We don’t know her exact breed but our best guess is collie/husky/shepherd mix.
This smart, affectionate pup has a heart full of love for everyone she meets—dogs, cats, kids, and people alike. She's never met a person she doesn't adore (though her enthusiasm sometimes results in happy jumps!). Ellie is particularly fond of giving face kisses to her dog friends, which some find charming and others find... well, a bit much! She's fearless, confident, and ready to take on the world with her tail wagging.
Ellie is a very smart girl who would thrive in an active home committed to continuing her training journey. She's already made significant progress with leash manners (especially with a front-attached harness and gentle corrections) and knows how to sit. She's working on recall and would benefit from an owner who enjoys training and sees her stubborn streak as part of her charm! With medium to high energy, Ellie loves her daily walks (2 walks of 15-45 minutes). A dog sibling would be a bonus—she absolutely loves having a playmate—but she'd do just fine as an only dog too.
Ellie is potty trained and sleeps beautifully through the night when left out of her crate. She's been successfully left alone for up to 6 hours and would do best in a dog-proof room rather than crated, as she really doesn't enjoy being confined. She has no separation anxiety and doesn't guard resources—she's just an easygoing girl who prefers her freedom!
