Gizmo / M / 8Y / 15lbs / Shih Tzu mix / Fostered in Owen Sound 

Gizmo is ready to find his perfect family! This special boy is still learning to trust and feel secure, but he's making wonderful progress every day. With patience and love, he'll blossom into the amazing companion he's meant to be. He loves nothing more than following his favourite person around to see what they're up to. He'll contentedly lie at your feet when he thinks you're settling in for a while - it's absolutely heartwarming! He's showing his playful side more and more as he gains confidence, and he loves running around in the yard. One of his favourite pastimes is spending time outside, listening to and watching neighbourhood children play in their yards. He's genuinely curious about the world around him, though he takes his time to check out new things.

Gizmo is house trained and does well in his crate (he's quiet all night!). He prefers to ask for pets rather than have them imposed on him. Moving slowly and respecting his space is key to building trust. He is medium energy level - he enjoys yard time and running around, plus 3-4 walks around the yard daily. He comes when called and is generally good on leash, though he's not fond of his harness yet.

This sweet boy has come so far already! He's working through some anxiety around unexpected touch and change, which sometimes shows as growling or snapping when he feels overwhelmed. With continued patient guidance, these behaviours are becoming less frequent. He's also learning the house rules - he initially tried to mark indoors but is getting better with consistent outdoor breaks.

Gizmo would be wonderful with:

- Patient, dog savvy adults who understand he needs time to warm up

- Calm household, either in a house or apartment 

- He is good with other dogs

- People who appreciate a devoted shadow who just wants to be near you

- Homes where he can have outdoor time to watch the world go by
