Choco

Choco / M / 1Y / 7lbs / Terrier mix / Fostered in Owen Sound 

Choco is a little bundle of terrier energy wrapped up in the biggest heart. He's the kind of dog who greets the world like every day is the best day ever — bouncing, curious, and always ready for the next adventure.

People are his favorite thing. Choco lights up around humans and dogs alike. On walks, he loves stopping to say hello to every pup he meets (no fear, no matter the size!), and he warms up to new people almost instantly. 

A true lap dog at heart. He's high energy and loves to zoom around the backyard or power through a walk, but once he's tired himself out, he's on the hunt for the nearest lap to curl up on for a snooze. Cuddly, playful, vocal, and full of puppy-like joy — that's Choco in a nutshell.

What he's working on: Choco is learning to come when called, sit for treats, and hold still so his leash can go on. He's crate trained for overnight and doing great with house training (just a heads-up that he may mark if another dog is in the house at first). He's also a talented jumper and a bit of an escape artist, so a secure space is a must! And if you tell him to stop barking... well, he's a terrier, so barking is just part of the package (he's working on it!). He will bark at other people and dogs he sees. 

He's a champ in the car — rode quietly in his wire crate for a 4-hour drive without a peep! He's also well-behaved in stores when carried. Noisy trucks on walks and thunder scare him. 

Choco would do well with an active family and he would love a playful dog sibling! A fenced yard would be preferred as he cannot be off leash without it. Someone with plenty of time to spend with him working on his training and celebrating his success with cuddles! He enjoys the company of calm, quiet children. He has not been cat tested but would likely chase them (with playful intentions).
