Myrtle

Myrtle / F / 15Y / 6.5lbs / Yorkshire terrier / Fostered in Owen Sound

Are you looking for a calm, loving companion who's happiest snuggling on the couch? Meet Myrtle! This sweet, relaxed girl is the definition of a perfect lap dog. Myrtle loves nothing more than enjoying tasty canned food treats, soaking up cuddles, and taking leisurely strolls around the backyard at her own pace. She's wonderfully chill and has yet to meet anything she doesn't like! Don't let her age fool you, she is young at heart. She is very healthy for a senior gal. She has a luxating patella but she still gets around well. She has chronic dry eye in her left eye and requires Optimmune twice daily (approx $100/1-1.5 month). She is having dental surgery on July 28th to repair fistula and to remove the few teeth she still has left. She will be ready to go home after she's recovered from that surgery.

Myrtle is calm, relaxed, and delightfully inquisitive. She's friendly with everyone she meets - dogs, cats, and kids alike. While she's naturally laid-back, she's starting to find her voice and will sweetly let you know when she wants attention (which is often!). Her low energy level makes her ideal for someone who prefers cozy nights in over long hiking adventures.

- Doing well with pee pad training (house training still in progress)

- Comfortable in her x-pen setup at night where she loves to curl up in her bed

- Sleeps through the night like a dream

- No separation anxiety, resource guarding, or fearfulness

- Potty breaks every 3 hours during the day

- Limited leash experience but loves backyard exploration

Myrtle would thrive in a low-traffic, quiet household with laid-back humans who are home often to continue helping with her house training journey. Whether you're looking to add to a multi-pet family or want a solo companion, Myrtle's friendly nature makes her adaptable to various living situations.
