Clover

Clover / F / 4 months / Shih Tzu Terrier mix / 8lbs / Fostered in Owen Sound

Clover is a remarkable dog whose spirit shines brighter than ever, even after overcoming incredible adversity. This courageous girl survived a tragic accident - her sister and her were hit by a car. Her sister unfortunately passed away in front of her and she suffered a broken leg, which needed to be amputated, but her resilience and zest for life are truly inspiring. Don't let her missing leg fool you – Clover is a silly, playful, and affectionate companion who's ready to bring joy to the right family. Having one less leg doesn't slow her down!

Clover's favourite activities include snuggling up for cuddles and playing with her toys. She has a medium energy level and enjoys short walks as she continues to build confidence on her leash, plus plenty of backyard adventures. While she's still learning basic commands and how to communicate her potty needs, she's making great progress with house training through frequent outdoor trips.

This sweet girl is incredibly cuddly and affectionate, with a silly personality that will keep you smiling. She's crate trained and can be left alone for up to 5 hours without any separation anxiety. Clover is wonderful with dogs and children 8 and older, though she can be shy when meeting new people initially. Once she warms up, she'll come over to say hello and share her gentle nature.

Clover would thrive in a home where someone is around often or can bring her along on daily adventures. Her ideal family would have limited stairs and another dog companion to keep her company. She's looking for patient adopters who understand that new situations can be overwhelming for her, but who will help her build confidence at her own pace.

While Clover hasn't been tested with cats, her gentle nature suggests she would likely do well with proper introduction. She's recovering beautifully from her amputation and is ready for a loving home where she can continue to heal and flourish.

It is a requirement of her adoption that adopters will take her to be spayed at one of our partner clinics in either Owen Sound or Mississauga when she is 6 months of age (cost will be covered by the rescue).
