Marley
Marley / F / 4Y / 70lbs / Golden Doodle / Fostered in Owen Sound
Marley is playful, relaxed, calm, silly, and cuddly, which makes her about the best combination a dog can be. She's a medium-energy gal who's just as happy lounging beside her people as she is zooming around the fenced yard. But the second she spots a leash? Pure joy! She's very polite on walks and loves sniffing everything along the way.
When Marley is running around outside with you, she might playfully jump up and wrap herself around your leg like she's giving you a hug, and she'll hold on for an impressive amount of time! She absolutely loves meeting new people and is excellent with kids, other dogs, and even cats.
Marley is a grazer who takes her time with dinner, but she definitely loves her treats. She's also a very quiet girl. Her foster hasn't heard her bark once, not even when someone knocks on the door! She's a star in the car too, sitting up like a true princess and watching the world go by without a peep. Her favourite things include being near her people, squeaky toys, and tug-of-war. Marley fully expects to sleep in her human's bed every night, so a king-size bed is recommended! She sleeps like a rock.
She gets two 20-minute walks a day plus lots of backyard play. She's fully potty trained, doesn't need a crate, and is trusted to free roam the house. She's been left alone for 4 hours with no issues (she may whine for a few minutes when you leave, but settles quickly). Just a heads up: she may counter surf!
What Marley is working on:
- Marley can guard her food from other dogs, so she'll do best eating in a separate area from other dogs.
- She's great with other dogs but doesn't love it when they go near her personal squeaky toys. She's learning that other dogs just want to sniff, not steal!
- Marley dislikes feeling confined or being in small rooms, and may be nervous of shadows, the dark, and fast, unexpected movements. A patient, gentle home will help her feel secure.
