Ginny
inny / F / 1Y / 40lbs / Mixed Breed / Fostered in Owen Sound
Ginny runs on two settings: calm cuddle-bug and upside-down gremlin goofball, often flipping between the two in the same five minutes. She took a couple of days to figure out she was allowed on the couch, but now there's no stopping her — she will wedge herself directly on top of you no matter how small the space is, because personal space is a myth to Ginny.
Her favourite thing in the world? People. She'll run up to greet everyone with a big smile, and if you stop petting her before she's ready, expect a gentle nudge reminding you the job isn't done. She's fantastic with dogs, cats, and kids alike, and has never shown a lick of fear toward a person or animal. She'd love it if the whole world stopped to play with her, but she's a good sport when they don't.
A few fun facts about this girl:
She's a natural-born swimmer and beach bum — took to the water immediately and loves playing in the waves.
She used to need a lift into the car, and now she happily jumps in herself, all smiles for every outing.
Leash manners are perfect — she's a "smell the roses," take-it-slow kind of walker.
She doesn't know many commands yet (she's too busy gazing at you adoringly when you talk), but she's working on "sit" and already has fantastic recall.
Doors are her one true nemesis — she pauses at each one like it might be a trap, and just needs a little gentle encouragement that yes, she's allowed inside.
Ginny is crate trained (settles without complaint, even if she doesn't march in willingly) and 10/10 potty trained. She's been left alone for 5+ hours without any issues, whether crated, in a room, or free-roaming (just don't trust her alone with an open garbage can — she's not perfect, just close to it). She holds her potty like a champ, and only shows the mildest bark of separation anxiety — especially if she's got a doggy or kitty roommate to keep her company.
Her energy is right in the middle — she'd make a fantastic hiking buddy, but she's just as happy curling up at home.
Ginny's dream home is an active family (with a playmate for her, if possible!) who wants a devoted, easygoing companion by their side for absolutely everything.
